Salsa Beginners Class

This introductory course, run over 8 weeks, is designed for people who have never danced Salsa before. No dance experience or partner is necessary. You will learn all the basics from the ground up, and we will get you grooving on the dance floor in no time.
Salsa dancing is a great way to build confidence, exercise the body, and enjoy the Latin rhythms from South America.

Hi everyone, as part of the Super Latin Thursdays collaboration at Ao Tawhiti we are bringing to you Salsa classes right in the heart of Christchurch city. Come and learn our clean Salsa style infused with a touch of Ballroom Latin American Technique. This is a mixed level class (intermediate through to advanced), everyone who comes will be challenged to grow their skills and have fun.
We prioritize three important ideas in these classes that sets us apart.
1) The connectedness in partner dancing, learning effortless spring tension.
2) Poise & frame that leads to dancing confidently.
3) Precision, dancing with tidy footwork and finishing arm styling.
Alongside all the technical jargon we teach we have heaps of fun, and our Salsa classes have been known for descending into stand up comedy.
Super Latin Thursdays at Ao Tawhiti consists of
Bachata with Flow wave 6-8pm
Salsa with Con Caruso Latin Dance 8-9pm
DJ Kevnito, Social dancing, Salsa and Bachata mix 9-11pm.
