Con and Anita, the founders of Con Caruso Latin Dance, have a shared passion for Latin dancing that they would like to share with others and inspire more people to become interested in the captivating and exciting dances that originated from Latin America.
We are a boutique school that offer structured and high quality adult Latin dance classes in Rangiora and Christchurch. Alongside all the fun we have in classes, we prioritise the correct technical principles and fundamentals of LA style Salsa. Come try a class and see the difference for yourself.

Con and Anita believe in treating dancers with dignity and respect, and an understanding that everybody's dance journey is unique. Our school has 3 important values we instill in our students;
"Spreading the Joy of Dance"
Latin partner dancing is meant to be enjoyed and cherished. We teach mutual respect in classes alongside our light hearted and fun approach to our adult group classes.
"Inclusiveness"
No matter who you are, whether you have a dance background or not, whether you have two left feet, you are always welcome in our classes. We proudly have a number of neurodivergent students.
"Overcoming adversity"
At some stage every dancer must overcome adversity in their development. The adversity comes in many forms. Perhaps it's a difficult move or concept, perhaps an injury, perhaps losing a dance partner. Whatever the challenge, we teach ways to approach and overcome the dance issues presented.
Salsa Beginners Classes
Next intake date 25th July 2026, 4pm Saturday
This introductory course run over 6 weeks is designed for people who have never danced Salsa before. No dance experience or partner is necessary. You will learn all the basics from the ground up, and we will get you grooving on the dance floor in no time.
Salsa dancing is a great way to build confidence, exercise the body, and enjoy the Latin rhythms from South America.
Salsa Improvers & Latin American
Can be joined any week, 3-4pm Saturdays
If you have successfully completed our beginners course and are ready for the next challenge then this is the class for you. This class builds and extends on the fundamental principles of our beginners course.
Alongside Salsa we also introduce some of the Ballroom Latin American dance styles, such as the Cha Cha Cha and the Rumba.
Salsa Intermediate & Advanced

If you want to perfect your dancing and knowledge of "L.A" style salsa then these intense classes are a perfect match for you. They involve a deep dive into the On 1 Salsa style that we has been trained in across Australasia. The classes involve learning fun social dance combinations along with drills and attention to detail. Learn secrets and tips that our instructors gained from intense overseas training!
6 Week Block Course
Time: 4:00 - 5:00pm. Location: Trinity Methodist Church Hall, 176 King Street, Rangiora
Cost: $75 for 6 week Block course.
